'Bridge House' - Little Bridge House in Ambleside, Cumbria. Now a National Trust property, this well known 17th Century  house has had a varied past, including once housing a family of 8!

'Cat Bells Lights' - Cat Bells, by Derwent Water, has a yearly procession of climbers shining torches along the ascending path, making for a spectacular sight for those on the opposite shore. It’s usually pitch black of course, so I took an artist’s prerogative and painted it at dusk during a particularly wonderful sunset that shows nature to be the expert light festival.

'Classic Drive' - Based on an experience of driving a 4x4 through the Dales and Lake District

'Cold Calling' - A winter theme here, set in the English Lake District. I wonder if he'll answer that phone.

'Cumbrian Twilight' - A classic scene of rural England, specifically Little Langdale in the Cumbrian Lake District.

'Here & there' - based upon the style of "This Way & That". These are inspired by summer days spent outdoors in the countryside with a low light casting long shadows and colours that you don't find in the compact cities.

'Home Coming' - A timeless scene of a small shepherd boy guiding his sheep homeward during the last rays of the setting sun.

'Nearly there' - Not as far as this Coronavirus lockdown goes, unfortunately, but the title of a new painting. As a self-employed artist, I'm well used to self isolation, working from home and painting or drawing in quiet solitude. Not that I flee from company and I'm always happy to see my family return from work/school, but I have never regretted not working in a busy environment. However, I am aware that everyone is different and many people cannot stand being confined to a small space, even when it's home. Even I can develop a little cabin fever with the need to take a walk in the big outdoors, which is why I find it easy to imagine walking among the hills just now on a golden sunlit evening, heading back to a cosy cottage. It will all be over soon.

'Sunset Cottage' - A lovely English cottage with a view to the lakes. Who wouldn't want to stay here?

'The Clearing' - This digital painting is based on a diorama effect of being drawn into the distant landscape. Walking out from thick woods into a generic scene of lakes and hills with a touch of late summer/early autumn light, I wanted to give the “Narnia” effect in this one.

'Winter Clearing' - Similar to “The Clearing”, this digital work draws the viewer from the dark woods out into a winter scene of fields and mountains all covered in thick snow and a low winter sunlight.

Print information - Image size A3, mounted in cream 20x16". Digital art images are printed onto Hahnemühle Studio Enhanced Pearl paper using professional fade resistant inks which best display the original colours and fine detail.  No watermarks appear on prints.
