MarmaladeRose – go on, say it! It rolls around your mouth and finishes with a pout at the end, teehee!Hi I'm Fiona Gill a self taught artist working with textiles and fibre. I try to live life through rose tinted glasses. Smile, be nice to others and appreciate the simple things in life. Home made bread, the cloud-shadows chasing across a hillside and holding hands with my wonderful man. My world is full of fabric and thread, fibre and yarn, literally! Go and open any cupboard, look under any bed that's what you'll find along with a few dust bunnies!I work from home regularly undertaking private commissions. You'll find me in the kitchen creating chaos and wet felted artworks, brooches and handbags. Knitting and crochet takes place from the big patchwork sofa in the lounge but the attic is where it all comes together...sketch books, paint, patchwork, embroidery, appliqué, vintage lace and fabrics, drawing with the sewing machine, and writing my blog.My work is usually whimsical and wishful, cheerful and happy.I flit about like a butterfly tasting a little of this and a little of that and then mixing it all together creating a garden of texture and colour. Come on step inside it feels wonderful.
