Paul Whittaker Art

I am a self taught artist, born in Lancashire, living in Cumbria for more than twenty years. I have been painting in acrylic for all that time and have recently started to experiment with watercolours.

I live in the Eden Valley, between the Lake District and the Pennines, so rugged landscape is all around. Capturing the epic beauty of these surroundings is my inspiration.

I tend to start with a collection of photos I have taken on a walk. I then use acrylic and watercolours to create paintings that are both realistic but hopefully also expressive, striving to represent the landscape in an exciting and original way.
