Slate into Art
My name is Terry, I live in the beautiful little hamlet of Clawthorpe in Westmorland, I share my home with my wife and our cats. Originally from Cambridgeshire, I fell in love with the Lake District in my early twenties, and moved North so that I could be closer to the idyllic lakes, fells and mountains of Cumbria where I love to spend time hiking and camping with my family, I also enjoy sketching the spectacular scenery whilst out exploring.
I’ve always had a passion for artwork, although I have only begun to indulge in my hobby later in life, I create charcoal sketches of Lakeland views, and give them an extra dimension using slate.
I have spent ten years of my life living in Skiathos, Greece, working as a tour guide, my claim to fame is that I was an extra in the first Mamma Mia movie when they were filming there, I met some very famous actors, a very memorable and fun experience! I returned to the UK eight years ago to be closer to my family, including my two young grandchildren, and now finally I am hoping to achieve my full potential as an artist.
