Nicholas Leigh Art - Kendal, Cumbria

Oil & mixed media

Nicholas Leigh is first and foremost a landscape painter, born and living in the English Lake District, and inspired by Cumbrian mountains and mountains of the world.

He is a keen climber, fell-runner and traveller and aims to paint the fleeting moments from the places he visits. He mainly uses Oil paint, as well as other mixed-media.

Recently Nicholas has been exploring the theme of the 1930's Art Nouveau Railway Posters in the English Lake District, and creating bold images in this style.

He studied Foundation Art at Leeds College of Art and Design and Fine Art (BA hons) at Loughborough University, and has exhibited in London, Cambridge and the Lake District, as well as undertaking a number of private commissions, which can be seen in the gallery page of his website.
