At Christmas time my heart melted when I opened an envelope addressed to me from under the tree… I found the most beautiful gift inside.
Zak the Collie Dog drawn in pastels, it took my breath away.
A hand written letter inside...
Dear Jean & family…..’I recently joined the local art society and after watching a demonstration of pastel drawing by a local artist, I felt inspired to try my hand. I came across a lovely photo of Zak on my phone that I had saved with the notion of maybe making a felt picture… but it never happened. Anyway I thought you might like the results of my practicing, hence the scribbles in the corner’…
Well Fiona, we absolutely love it and it will take pride and place in our home!
As many of you are aware, Fiona AKA MarmaladeRose was such a big part of our Cherrydidi business. She would join us every year for a few months and would create a real buzz outside our Keswick windows as passers-by would be stopped in their tracks to take in her magnificent felt pieces.
And just in case you haven’t heard of Fiona let me introduce her and her work….
